During a ceremony held at Azalai Hotel in Cotonou on 6 May, the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) launched the program “Investing in Female Entrepreneurship for a Greener Economy in Benin” ; no (IFEV-Benin)”. It was in order to strengthen the resilience of women.

Investing in Female Entrepreneurship for a Greener Economy in Benin (IFEV-Benin) is funded by Global Affairs Canada (AMC) to improve the resilience of women entrepreneurs. Indeed, the AECF, which works alongside women entrepreneurs, has in particular mobilized funds to invest in at least 4 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), two microfinance institutions and 5 women's cooperatives. Thanks to this initiative financed with 2 million Canadian dollars or more than 2.5 billion CFA francs, at least 2,500 women through cooperatives and 2,000 other micro-entrepreneurs, artisans, small agricultural producers, processors and distributors will be trained and will benefit from micro-credits for climate-smart agricultural production

The program targets women entrepreneurs in sectors with a high positive climate impact, including technological innovation, digital technology, small farms, small-scale farms, production, processing, processing, crafts and trade that will help remove barriers to the challenge development of their activities.
