This expansion reinforces the insurer's presence on the African continent.
Wafa Assurance SA has been authorized by the insurance sector regulator in the CIMA zone to operate on the Gabonese life insurance market. Wafa Assurance Vie Gabon has a capital of 5 billion CFA francs (8.24 million dollars), and will offer savings and death insurance products on the Gabonese market. It is present in 6 African countries outside Ghana. These are Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia and Egypt.
