The Guinean government decided to withdraw the documents of 8 companies involved in mining in high-volume sampling through an administrative letter from the National Directorate of Mines sent to the companies concerned.

The prefectural director of environment and sustainable development of Siguiri, Mamoudou Cissé said that “the National Directorate of Mines sent a document ruling on the withdrawal of 8 mining companies from the high-volume sampling in Siguiri prefecture. The document requires the withdrawal of documents with these companies and the restoration of the environment without delay. We have communicated to the various companies. They already have the documents and they have done the dump. Therefore, a joint team will go to the mining sites to ascertain the facts, if however, the environment has been threatened in order to proceed with restoration.”
