in the United States.Brent lost 9 cents, or 0.1%, to trade at $83.52 per barrel, while American West Texas Intermediate (WIT) crude lost 3 cents, or 0.04%, to trade at $79.19 per barrel at 0046 GMT. According to figures from the American Petroleum Institute, U.S. crude oil and gasoline inventories declined last week while distillates increased. The figures also mention that crude inventories fell by 6.49 million barrels in the week ending on May 24, with gasoline inventories down by 452,000 barrels, and distillates up by 2.045 million barrels
