State governors have requested the reimbursement of all equity investments in the $10 billion integrated national power projects that are under the management of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.

Governors formulated their demands in a document entitled “development of the integrated national electricity policy and policy recommendations of the strategic implementation plan by state governments”. Indeed, under the aegis of their umbrella body, the Forum of Governors of Nigeria, have declared that the federal government should repay a fair rate of return on its investments in power plants.
