Brent oil futures for delivery in August rose 8 cents to $85.15 per barrel at 0.008 GMT. American West Texas Intermediate crude for June was down 27 cents, or 0.3%, to $81.30 per barrel
.WTI crude, on the other hand, slipped ahead of the release of the US government's oil inventory report, which was delayed for a day due to National Day. The Energy Information Administration is due to release last week's oil inventory data at 11 am EDT (1500 GMT) on Thursday.
