The Intergovernmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) organized a series of activities in Dakar on 13 and 14 June last year. It was an annual information session on its activities.

Le Directeur général du GIABA, Junior Edwin Harris a indiqué dans un speech qu' il est “more than essential that all stakeholders understand the need to take ownership of the struggle and recognize their contribution to the development of our economies and, by extension, our communities, in order to achieve the common prosperity that we want.” For him, this approach is in line with the main objective of the 2023-2027 strategic plan, which focuses on raising awareness among the various target audiences. The CEO of GIABA also maintains that the various sessions aim to encourage member governments to act in the areas of the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism in order to clean up the economic and financial systems of member countries
