The mission of the International Monetary Fund, which has been in Senegal for a few days, held a press conference last Wednesday. The head of mission of the IMF indicated that it could be possible to disburse an amount of nearly 240 billion CFA francs for Senegal

IMF Mission Chief Edward Gemayel said while speaking at the press conference that progress has been made in structural reforms in Senegal. Three of the six structural benchmarks for the second review of the MEC/FEC programme have already been completed. According to the Board of Directors, one of the two reform measures under FRD is on track to be completed before the Board of Directors meeting scheduled for the second half of July

Edward Gemayel assured that “once the agreement with the staff is concluded for Senegal, according to Mr. Gemayel, it will be a question for the IMF Executive Board to review these programs for Senegal and their level of progress, it could be possible to disburse an amount of nearly 240 billion CFA francs”.
