With the collaboration of representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the managers of planetGOLD Guinea donated more than 2500 plants to the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Guinea on Tuesday, July 02, 2024, more than 2500 plants to the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Guinea.

planetGOLD Guinea has made an important gesture to fight against the advance of the desert in the mining areas of our country. This action is part of the celebration of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, celebrated on 17 June each year. Bangaly Dioumessy, the representative of the planetGOLD Guinea project, said that this initiative aims to restore and preserve the fragile ecosystem of Mandiana prefecture, by reforesting areas degraded by mining, in order to slow the progression of the desert

and regenerate local biodiversity.

For the latter, “the objective is the rehabilitation of degraded sites. If you have followed the various statements, one of the causes of this degradation is indeed the making of bricks and the artisanal exploitation of gold. So, we are particularly proud to be here this day, because there is a direct link between the objective of our project and the statements made here. If the artisanal exploitation of gold is one of the causes of this degradation, it is the right for all those who work for the implementation of the planetGOLD project that promotes good planting practices to restore this site for the future generation
