During the first summit of the Alliance of Sahel States, the heads of state of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goïta, and of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goïta, and of Niger, Colonel Assimi Goïta, and of Niger, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, decided on Saturday to create an AES confederation.

The heads of state welcomed, through a statement, the results obtained thanks to the synergy of actions between the three states in the fight against terrorism in the Alliance area. According to the statement, the states of the confederation decided to wage a joint and effective fight against terrorism in the Sahel in general, and in the Liptako-gourma area in particular.
