Gabon wants to enhance the mining potential of Gabon by improving the management of the sector, in particular by monitoring operators in the research and exploitation phase, and by improving knowledge of geological potential.

The Gabonese Ministry of the Economy has launched a call for expressions of interest, for the recruitment of a firm to draft the texts implementing the law No. 037/2018 of 11 June 2019 regulating the national mining sector. The reform work will benefit from a loan from the African Development Bank, as part of the (PADEG) Project to support the diversification of the Gabonese economy. The firm will have to specifically identify the number of regulatory texts, their design, and their return to the mining administration and other stakeholders via a workshop.
