During the swearing-in ceremony for a new term of five years, on Thursday in Nouakchott, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El GHAZOUANI pledges to wage “a relentless fight against mismanagement and corruption” in the presence of numerous foreign legations.

Ghazouani emphasized that the fight against corruption “is everyone's responsibility: the administration, justice, civil society, and the media. It is a battle that begins with the need to overcome the resistances that oppose it.” He reaffirmed his commitment to “do everything possible to meet their expectations and fulfill their hopes”, in the presence of six African heads of state.
