On Monday, August 12, 2024, sixty-five (65) other participants joined the pilot phase of the West African Economic and Monetary Union's interoperable instant payment system with new members.

The total number of institutions participating in the pilot phase of the UEMOA interoperable instant payment system is now ninety (90), including sixty-seven (67) banks, nine (9) electronic money institutions (EMEs) and fourteen (14) financial systems from centralized (SFD). The new interoperable instant payment infrastructure is capable of processing transactions of any kind, regardless of the type of account
