Adama Bagayoko, a young Malian opinion leader, called on the government to create public transport companies, both urban and interurban.

Bagayoko said that the creation of public transport companies would revitalize the transport sector, create jobs and improve road safety. According to him, “it is a very promising sector, but which is unfortunately underexploited in Mali”. For him, the creation the creation of public transport companies would allow the State to generate significant revenues and reduce youth unemployment. In reality, national transport companies have several advantages. These include improving the quality of services, reducing road accidents, creating jobs and economic development.

For challenges, in carrying out such a project, the leader cited financing needs, the need to set up an effective and transparent management system, as well as the issue of competition with private carriers already present on the market.
