Snow and ice episode in Nord and Pas-de-Calais: two deaths and injuries recorded

Since Wednesday, an episode of snow and ice has hit northern France. Two people died and around 30 others were injured. This episode continues with a new switch to orange vigilance for the night of Thursday to Friday. The Nord, Pas-de-Calais and Somme again switched to snow-ice orange vigilance at 22:00 on Thursday and until 10:00 on Friday. According to Météo France, “the arrival of a mass of cold air starting in the evening and the nocturnal sunshine” generate a “significant” risk of frost”.

The famous real estate agent Stéphane Plaza is tried in criminal court for domestic violence against two former partners. On Thursday, he received an 18-month suspended prison sentence and a 10,000 euros fine. Russian justice: verdict expected for Navalny's lawyers accused of “extremism”

At the end of the trial of three lawyers of the opponent Alexeï Navalny, who died in custody in February 2024, Russian justice must deliver its verdict on Friday. These lawyers are in turn accused of “extremism” and risk several years in prison.
