European stock exchanges are expected to fall at the start of Friday, after the American Congress definitively passed the budget law wanted by the President of the United States Donald Trump.

At around 7:40 a.m., the CAC 40 futures contract fell by 0.6%, according to data from broker IG.

INSEE will publish statistics on industrial production in May at 8:45am.

As concerns mount about the impending deadline for concluding trade agreements with the United States, equity futures fell this morning. According to data from broker IG, the DAX 40 futures contract in Frankfurt lost 0.3%, while the FTSE 100 in London fell

by 0.2%.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the European Union is aiming for a trade “deal in principle” with the Trump administration rather than a more comprehensive deal by July 9. For her, negotiating with the United States is “an enormous task” because of the volume and complexity of the commercial relationship.

In Asia, Beijing assured on the night of Thursday to Friday that China and the United States were accelerating the implementation of their trade agreement concluded in London.

Across the Atlantic, after the Senate, the House of Representatives definitively adopted on Thursday evening the budget law wanted by American President Donald Trump. The text provides for extending certain tax cuts, increasing the military budget and cutting certain social spending. It is expected to be signed into law by Donald Trump this Friday, National Day. American markets are closed for this holiday.

In New York, the stock market ended higher on Thursday and set new closing records after a shortened session, encouraged by good American employment figures. The S&P 500 index closed at a new high of 6,279.35 points after an increase of 0.8%. The Nasdaq Composite also set a new record of 20,601.10 points, gaining 1%. For its part, the Dow Jones index rose 0.8% to 44,828.53 points, approaching less than 200 points from its peak at the end of 2024.
In Asia, the Nikkei index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 0.1% on Friday at the end of trading. The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.7%, while the Hang Seng fell by 0.4% on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange

The 10-year US Treasury bond yield was 4.35% (+7 basis points, or 0.07 percentage points) at the close on Thursday evening. The stock rate at two years was 3.89% (+9.5 points).

The greenback lost 0.4% against the Japanese currency, to 144.33 yen. Around 7:40 a.m., the euro gained 0.2% to 1.1783 dollars.


The August contract for soft light crude (WTI) listed on Nymex sold 9 cents (-0.1%) to $66.91 per barrel. Around 7:40 a.m., the September contract for North Sea Brent traded in London lost 18 cents, or 0.3%, to $68.62

per barrel.
