The competition is part of a wider trend to integrate technology into agriculture, a pillar of the Ivorian economy. According to Pélé Ouattara, a student at the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INPHB) and the son of farmers, “the passion for robotics increased my desire to improve the conditions in which my parents used to farm.” For her part, Urielle Diaidh, enrolled at the Polytechnic University of Bingerville, believes that “without new technologies, agriculture is in
danger of dying out.”The competition revolves around the theme “Agriculture 4.0". According to Paul-Marie Ouattara, digital transformation engineer for a private company and at the initiative of the competition, the theme of the competition “agriculture 4.0 is improved agriculture, enhanced through new technologies, whether robots, drones, drones, artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence, data processing that will help the
farmer”.
