As investors review new corporate releases and continue to monitor the tariff case, European stock exchanges are expected to open lower on Tuesday.

The aeronautical equipment manufacturer Safran announced that it has completed the purchase of the actuation and flight control activities of Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of the American group RTX. For its part, the American company Woodward announced that it had completed the purchase of Safran's electromechanical actuation activities in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The pharmaceutical group Sanofi announced on Tuesday that it had signed an agreement to acquire the British biotech company Vicebio, a specialist in respiratory vaccines. “Under the terms of the agreement, Sanofi would acquire all the capital of Vicebio for a total initial payment of 1.15 billion dollars”, or about 984 million euros, said the pharmaceutical group in a statement.

On Monday evening, the concessions and construction group Vinci announced that its Australian subsidiary Seymour Whyte had won three construction contracts worth a total of 431 million euros.

Pharmaceutical supplier Sartorius Stedim Biotech confirmed its financial goals for 2025 on Tuesday, after revealing a gross current operating surplus that exceeded analysts' expectations in the first half of the year.

Investors are reacting on Tuesday to the defeat of the ruling coalition during the partial senatorial elections that took place in Japan on Sunday. Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba's coalition lost its majority in the upper house, while it was already a minority in the lower house. The September contract for soft light crude (WTI) listed on Nymex fell by 43 cents, or 0.7%, to $65.52 per barrel. Around 7:40am, the September North Sea Brent contract listed in London lost 42 cents, or 0.6%, to $68.79

per barrel.
