In its report on monetary policy in Umoa for the 4th quarter of 2020, the Central Bank of West African States (Bceao) indicates that the total amount of gross issuances on the regional public debt market during 2020 amounted to 10,486.8 billion CFA francs, against 4,428.9 billion in 2019, an increase of 136.8%.

The overall amount of gross issues on the regional public debt market during the year 2020 increased by 136.8%. According to the Bceao, the total amount of gross issues amounted to 10,486.8 billion CFA francs during the year against 4,428.9 billion in 2019.

According to the Bceao, net issuances stood at 4,181.1 billion against 910.8 billion a year earlier. The Treasury bill segment accounted for 52.5% of the interventions, in connection with the issuance of "Covid-19 bonds". These operations, whose maturity was three months, were renewed three times, after the launch in April 2020, for an amount of 1.172 billion, continues the institution.
