Benin mobilizes 66 billion on the WAEMU market after issuing OATs. The funds are only reserved for the financing of various social and environmental projects that contribute to Benin's commitments to achieve the United Nations SDGs.

Benin has issued for the first time international bonds dedicated to the financing of projects with a strong impact on the achievement of the SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals). And the least we can say is that the operation was a success. The country mobilized 328 billion CFA francs, the equivalent of 500 million euros. The repayment deadline is for 2035. For the government, "the success of this operation is proof that investors have adhered to the achievements and the social program of the government of President Patrice Talon, in connection with its commitment to a five-year term in during a highly social mandate".
