As part of its promise to subsidize the price of bread, the Ivorian government is paying 6.4 billion CFA francs to mills. This subsidy was put in place as part of the fight against the high cost of living, in addition to the exemption from customs duty granted on wheat imports.

The State of Côte d'Ivoire, through the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has begun to pay the subsidy to millers in order to maintain the price of products, particularly bread sticks. A total of 6.4 billion CFA francs was paid by the government on May 27, 2022. This amount, which is the first instalment of the payment, is a real breath of fresh air for the players in the sector.
