TogoCellulaire and Moov Togo now have their 4G license. A signing ceremony for the granting of the license took place on Monday 11 June at the Hotel 2 Février in Lomé. This ceremony was coupled with the renewal of 2G and 3G licenses to the two national mobile operators, Togolcellulaire and Atlantique Telecom Togo (Moov). The Togolese government is committed to providing the country with the latest generation of electronic communications infrastructure, to improve the connectivity of Togo in very high speed, to allow users to benefit from diversified offers adapted to the market evolution. Thus, after having granted the 3G license in 2009 and then in 2016 to operators, with significant results, the government has decided to move them to a higher stage by granting them 4G. The effectiveness of these two measures is a crucial step in the deployment of broadband in Togo. It will allow consumers to have access to 4G services, in order to have a very high speed mobile internet connection, to give more visibility to operators and encourage them to invest more in the development of the national economy. These measures will also help achieve the objective of 4G coverage of at least 40% of the population by 2022 and support the transformation process of the Togo Telecom Group, by upgrading its licenses.
