The valuation of the Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) group rose by 99% on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (Lagos Stock Exchange) over the past 12 months, according to the latest data from African stock markets. This is the third best performance of the financial group based in Lomé, Togo, among all banks present on a stock exchange in Africa.

Several hypotheses can explain this evolution. The first is that the value of the financial institution was negatively perceived by investors who could no longer wait for dividends to be distributed. The second hypothesis is that investors understood that it was time to invest in the group, because of its potential to generate capital gains.
