In recent years, Africa has experienced a rapid expansion of information and communication technologies. But the continent is exposed to the risks associated with this advance, particularly in  Côte d'Ivoire where the explosion of cybercrime is populating the ICT ecosystem. It is to find solutions to these phenomena that the CiberObs structure organizes  "The cyber africa forum"  (Caf) on April 29 in Abidjan.

For Franck Kié (son of banker Charles Kié), initiator of the event, the African financial sector must take the threat seriously. Today a consultant in cyber-security (formerly Deloitte finance Côte d'Ivoire) and founder of the CIBerOBS platform, export is seeking, through the Abidjan conference, to stimulate debate around a crucial issue in the fourth revolution.

This event, which brings together public and private institutions as well as African companies and multilateral organizations, aims  to increase the understanding of the " cyber " issues of West African actors (Administrations, Political figures, Companies, Users...) via the organization of round tables, masterclasses and keynotes.

According to a study conducted by Deloitte in 2019, 15% of companies deplore the difficulty of prioritizing the risks related to cybercrime, 14% express the  lack of a global vision of this risk and the lack of qualified professionals in the field. Also, a study carried out by an Ivorian IT company brings to 45% the percentage of large companies that have already been the subject of cyber-attacks (ransomware, data theft ...) in West Africa. These situations constitute a brake on the country's economic development.

The Cyber Africa Forum will therefore be a space for exchange to address issues related to Cyber in a transversal way. Because, cyber risks are ranked in the TOP 3 economic threats in the world in 2019 according to  the World Economic Forum.
