This Friday, July 15, 2022, the government and the World Bank signed an additional financing agreement of 233,800,000 Euros or 153,362,746,600 FCFA for the AQUAVIE Program.

To amplify the investments made by the government of President Patrice TALON to achieve universal access to drinking water before the deadline set by the United Nations. This is in part what this financing will allow. It will consist of the construction of 80 new multi-village drinking water supply systems (SAEPmV) to serve approximately 1,266,000 additional people and the commissioning of facilities in 404 villages in all the country's departments except the Littoral, through 2,700 standpipes and 28,000 private connections. The objective of the AQUAVIE program is to improve access to drinking water services and strengthen management models in rural areas of Benin.
