COTONOU, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Benin's Minister of Digital and Digitization, Aurélie Adam Soulé Zoumarou, on Tuesday in Cotonou officially launched the activities of the 2020 edition of Digital Week, intended to promote exchanges between the actors of the digital ecosystem, noted Xinhua on the spot.

"The digital week allows Benin to shine internationally, to show the potential in digital innovation in Benin, to network the actors of the ecosystem of our country with their counterparts from other countries and around the world. , to discuss issues that relate to (the) digital economy and all its players", she said.

Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Zoumarou, considered that the theme: "Special sixty years, on the way to our digital maturity" of this edition is in line with the vision of Beninese President Patrice Talon.

“This theme is a good illustration of what we have decided to do under the leadership of President Patrice Talon, that is to take the path of the digital transformation of our public administration, our companies and society as a whole”, she underlined, believing that in 1960, digital was a dream.

"When our country gained independence in 1960, we could not imagine that we would be at this level of maturity and digital evolution, that is to say (being able to) take courses and have results online, obtaining administrative papers from (home). This has become possible (from) these days, because together, we have decided to move towards this digital transformation", she rejoiced.

The Digital Week, which will take place until November 27, will be animated by face-to-face activities in accordance with the rules published by the government in the context of the fight against the spread of COVID-19, the broadcast in

panels, webinars and keynotes on the digital channels of the sector and finally by challenges and free training on the professions of video games, e-commerce and digital marketing.
