The Built With Bitcoin Foundation (BWB) is a humanitarian organization that announced the opening of the Bitcoin Technology Center (BTC) this week. It is a new learning and training center based in Kumasi, Ghana built as a legacy of the first Africa Bitcoin conference taking place this month and will be led by Ghanaians, for Ghanaians, according to its organizers.

The Bitcoin Technology Center will be unveiled with an expected attendance of 200 people, including 50 young people from eight local schools during a campus visit on December 8. Its opening will bring together leaders from the Built With Bitcoin Foundation, Paxful, the Human Rights Foundation, Bitnob, and Bitcoin for Fairness, among others.

According to the organizers, the aim of the space is to provide the local community with skills and knowledge in the financial and technology sectors. Also, the center aims to create a community and foster a safe learning environment. The Bitcoin Technology Center will teach subjects including financial literacy: understanding money, an introduction to Bitcoin, entrepreneurship, introduction to computers, and introduction to coding.
