The National Assembly adopted in plenary session on Monday December 29, 2025, the legislative text concerning the fight against money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

The adopted bill falls within the framework of Togo's international commitments. It aims to strengthen the national system. to suppress illicit financial flows. By adopting this law, at first Reading, national representation allows the restructuring of the unit national financial information processing system, to improve the supervision of taxable persons. Also, this law strengthens the powers of the authorities. controls and imposes increased vigilance on banking matters and financial. It consolidates judicial and administrative cooperation. regional and international.

With respect to this law, The Honourable Klassou welcomed the Government for the initiative of this text, which embodies the commitment of the President of the Council, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, of promote a healthy and thriving economic environment, to strengthen security national and to guarantee peace in Togo, which is located in a regional space very threatened.
