Côte d'Ivoire-UEMOA-Economy-Stock Exchange The Director General of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), Edoh Kossi Amenounve wished Monday in Abidjan, a synergy of actions between his institution and the West African Development Bank (BOAD), believing that this will be useful for States.

"BOAD is a key and major player. I think that today a good synergy between the actions of BOAD and BRVM would be something highly useful for our States," said Mr. Kossi after a visit by Serge Ekué, the new president of BOAD to the BRVM headquarters in Abidjan.

According to him, this visit of Mr. Ekué is a "strong signal" in the accompaniment of the States and the private sector of the WAEMU.

Before him, the new boss of BOAD maintained that it was "absolutely useful that I go here to the BRVM to realize how our region deals with issues of stocks and bonds".

In his opinion, the BRVM is an "essential tool" for the development of the States of the sub-region. "The stock exchange is an instrument at the service of States and the private sector. It is an instrument for the fluidification of the debt. It is an instrument for strengthening our companies, or even States through the issuance of the treasures of our States and BOAD as an instrument and financing bank, must be integrated into this ecosystem, "said Mr. Ekué.

During this visit, Mr. Ekue, to whom the BRVM was introduced, rang the bell at 09:45 (Local Time and GMT), marking the opening of the market of the day of this institution.

Serge Ekue, 54, who is a Beninese national, was appointed president of BOAD on 18 August and officially took office on 28 August.
