In a press release, the Central Bank of Congo (BCC) informed that 10,000 and 20,000 Congolese franc notes, bearing a new signature, are legal tender and circulate simultaneously with notes & Eacute; but earlier. She clarifies that, the change of signature is linked to the appointment of Malangu Kabedi Mbuyi, governor of this issuing institute. Indeed, the change of signature followed Order No. 21/036 of July 12, 2021 and that of No. 21/036 of June 30, 2021. Thus, through these explanations, the BCC stopped rumours in public opinion while affirming that its notes are legal tender and can circulate like notes previously issued. At the same time, she warns that the change of signature will be observed on all other nominations in the current range in circulation. It should be noted that the BCC quantifies the currency circulating in the country and the cost of money. It therefore sets the interest rate for loans granted to salespeople.
