 Ivorian Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly, in charge of budget and
State portfolio, presented on Tuesday the government's response plan to "mitigate the impact" of the
Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Côte d'Ivoire, at a cost of 1700 billion CFA francs, or about 5% of the domestic product
gross (GDP) of the country.
"In addition to the health response plan, the government has initiated consultations with all
of the private sector, the various professional organizations between 24 and 30 March 2020, having allowed
to draw up an economic, social and humanitarian support plan valued at 1700 billion CFA francs, or about
5% of our GDP," Gon Coulibaly said in a televised statement.
This plan, he will say, will "mitigate the impact of the pandemic on populations and actors
economic sectors in the formal and informal sectors and will also prepare for a rapid recovery of
activities at the end of the pandemic".
It is divided into three main axes, namely business support measures and
the economy and social measures in favour of the population.
In the short term, business support measures aim to maintain economic activities< in order to > relieve their cash flow and preserve employment. In this regard, the government has decided to suspend the >< tax audits for a period of three months.
The government has undertaken to postpone the payment of flat traders and craftsmen, including maquis, restaurants, nightclubs, bars, cinemas and
performance venues.

medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and very small enterprises (VSEs).
