The next opening of an agricultural commodities exchange in Abidjan is set for the end of next month. The priority sectors are raw cashew nuts, kola nuts and maize. The director general of Côte d'Ivoire's new agricultural commodities exchange said the structure's activities will begin at the end of March with raw cashew nuts, kola nuts and maize. The exchange also plans to eventually list natural rubber and palm oil. This exchange, housed in the building of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) aims to provide a reliable market for products whose sales are now traded directly between buyers and sellers. Edoh Kossi Amenounve, director of the BRVM stock exchange, said the agricultural commodities exchange will provide a reference price that will serve as a basis for negotiating national and international commercial contracts.
