February 16, 2021This is a first in the buildings and public works sector in Côte d'Ivoire. Ageroutemarché.ci, a new electronic platform for managing road contracts, was handed over this Tuesday, February 16 to the Ministry of Equipment and Road Maintenance. This technological innovation, part of the Project for improving governance for the Delivery of Basic Services to Citizens, PAGDS, aims to ensure good governance in the management of road infrastructure.
Thus, ageroutemarché.ci should ensure transparency in the procurement of road projects, allow optimization of public resources and better monitoring of road works, throughout Côte d'Ivoire.
"The management of public procurement is a rather complex mission and the portfolio of active projects of the ministry amounts to more than 2000 billion FCFA for about 15 million direct beneficiaries," admits Amédé Kouakou, Minister of Equipment and Road Maintenance.
"For greater clarity, our ministry has chosen to make available to the public and to our national and international partners, the procedures for launching, selecting, executing and monitoring these road projects," he explains.
For Adama Coulibaly, Minister of Economy and Finance, "this tool will allow the State to rationally manage the budget allocated to road infrastructure and to make savings through the strengthening of the quality of the work carried out".
Ageroutemarché.ci is also a solution to solve the problems related to recurring amendments, the poor quality of road infrastructure, the weakness of road operators, the delay in the construction of infrastructure.
It is funded by the Governance Improvement Project for the Delivery of Basic Services to Citizens, PAGS, of the World Bank's Program For Results, PforR. It is managed by the Road Management Agency, AGEROUTE.
