The Caisse des dépôts et de consignations of Côte d'Ivoire (CDC-CI) and the Association
professionals of banks and financial institutions (APBEF-CI) have decided to strengthen their relations
during a meeting on Thursday in Abidjan.
This meeting made it possible to discuss the concerted management system for the funds of notary clients
housed in the banks and to agree on the practical and consensual methods of implementing
this new device.
The Director General of CDC-CI, Fofana Lassina invited all the stakeholders, namely the
notaries, their clients and banks to comply with the new law.
APBEF-CI, through its third vice-president, Léonce Yacé, managing director of Nsia-banque
is committed to strengthening collaboration with the CDC-CI and to supporting it in its missions.
Law No. 2018-574 of June 13, 2018 requires notaries to deposit their clients' funds at the
CDC-CI. Pursuant to this law, the process of opening accounts for notaries with the CDC-CI
started on November 1, 2019.
Created on June 13, 2018 by Law No. 2018-574, the Caisse des dépôts et consignation de Côte d'Ivoire (CDC-CI) has
intended to mobilize long-term resources, to ensure their secure management and to contribute to the
financing of the economy through investments of general interest.
CDC-CI's missions as an investor and trusted third party are complementary and not
competition in the banking business, it is pointed out.
