Since 1 January 2020, Côte d'Ivoire has switched to budget management in programme budget mode. A mode of public financial management,  designed under the model of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU),  to obey a better appropriation in order to allow the actors of  public finance to conduct a rational, clean and effective management.

A first sub-regional seminar on the issue around the theme " Programme budget according to WAEMU standards"  and operational efficiency of companies and public administrations " made it possible to understand the importance of this change, prompting me to organize a new session scheduled for the 10th, 11 and 12 December 2020 in Grand-Bassam.

According to the organizers, including an international business firm, the organization of capacity-building sessions should lead to greater coherence between development objectives and budget allocations.

More than 80 per cent of African countries report the same sources have committed to introducing a programme budget system. Through this system, countries hope to align socio-economic planning more closely with annual budgets and integrate a culture of performance, but also participate in community dynamics and reforms.
