In an address to the population, this Tuesday, March 31, 2020, the Prime Minister, Minister of Budget and State Portfolio, Amadou Gon Coulibaly, indicated that the growth rate project could be 3.5% instead of 7.2%, because of Covid 19.

According to the head of government, all key sectors of the economy (agricultural exports and imports, construction, transport, industry, trade) are impacted by the effects of the Coronavirus disease. To do this,  an economic, social and humanitarian support plan of an estimated amount of 1,700 billion CFA francs is planned, in anticipation of the economic recession following the  health crisis.

Thus, the State provides an envelope of 250 billion CFA francs  in support of the private sector. The same amount will also be disbursed in the agricultural cash crop sectors. To this must be added  the suspension of tax audits for 3 months and  the reduction of the transport licence by 25%.

Regarding the payment of water and electricity bills, the government orders the structures in charge of these sectors to postpone. The government also promises a special bonus for the health profession for its dedication, throughout the duration of the crisis due to the Covid 19 coronavirus disease.
