Doctor Demba Mara, Hospital Director Prefectural of Kouroussa, was found guilty of embezzlement audiences. He is sentenced to three years in prison and will have to pay 30 million Guinean francs fine.

The verdict was in Kankan on Wednesday evening. The Judgement was delivered by the Kouroussa Peace Court, in court relocated to the Kankan Court of Appeal, after a trial closely followed by local opinion.

The trial between Kouroussa's youth and director of the hospital ended after two days of hearings marked by depositions, confrontations and sometimes tense pleadings. The Public prosecutor blamed Dr. Demba Mara for embezzling funds and property belonging to the prefectural hospital.

At the end of the discussions, the court found him guilty. On the other hand, his two co-defendants, Souleymane Bah and Moussa Cissokho, also officials of the health structure, were released for an unconstituted offense.
