As the US dollar benefits from the prospect of monetary policy tightening from the US Federal Reserve (Fed) next week, the British pound and the yen hit multi-year lows. Around 10:10 a.m. GMT (11:10 a.m. in Paris), the yen lost 0.63% against the dollar at 116.87 yen, after having crossed the 117 yen mark for the dollar earlier in the session for the first time since 2017, while the British pound (-0.08% to 1.3075 dollars for one pound) had fallen to its lowest since November 2020 at 1.3051 dollars.
