The Director General of the BRVM, Dr Edoh Kossi Amenounve, was unanimously reappointed Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association des Bourses des Valeurs Africains (ASEA, African Securities Exchanges Association), for a two-year term, to the end of its general meeting held virtually on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

According to a press release from the BRVM, it will have Mr. Thapelo Tsheole, CEO of the Botswana Stock Exchange, as Vice-President.

The ASEA Executive Committee is made up of the Johannesburg (JSE), Egypt (EGX), Ghana (GSE), Kenya (NSE), Rwanda (RSE), Botswana (BSE), Tanzania (DSE), Central Africa (BVMAC) and the BRVM. African stock exchanges have a capitalization of 1535
billion dollars representing 65% of the continent's GDP as of December 31, 2019.

After his election, Mr. Amenounve reaffirmed his commitment to work with the support of his peers to promote and develop African financial markets. He also indicated his desire to open major projects during his mandate.

Indeed, during this mandate, he will be responsible for steering the major projects underway, in particular the implementation of the project to integrate African stock exchanges (African Exchanges Linkage Project - AELP), the post-COVID recovery strategy 19, the conduct of high-level discussions of African stock exchanges with the African Union Commission and African regional organizations, advocacy for depth and liquidity in African markets through, in particular, privatizations and the exit of funds from Private Equity and finally the capacity building of actors in the African stock market ecosystem.

After his doctoral studies in finance sanctioned by a PhD obtained in 1995 at Laval University in Canada, Dr Edoh Kossi Amenounve has a career of more than 20 years in the capital markets successively as Managing Director of the Management Company and intermediation
of Togo (SGI-Togo), Chairman of an Asset Management Company, Secretary General of the UEMOA Regional Financial Market Regulatory Authority (CREPMF) and Managing Director of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) and the Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR) since 2012.

The Association of African Stock Exchanges has 27 stock exchanges. It aims to develop exchanges between its members, improve the international competitiveness of its members and provide a platform for networking and information exchange. Established in 1993, ASEA works to develop the potential of African capital markets. Its vision is to enable Africa's stock exchanges to be key players in Africa's economic and social transformation by 2025.
