PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)--The pound fell on Monday morning, losing 1.8% against the dollar and 1.1% against the euro, weighed down by concerns over the new strain of coronavirus and by uncertainties regarding Brexit. The British currency is trading at 1.3274 dollars and 1.09 euros. The United Kingdom announced on Saturday the appearance on its territory of this new variant of the coronavirus, which seems to spread 70% faster than the previous strains. Faced with this further deterioration in the health situation, the United Kingdom imposed new confinement in the most affected regions, including the closure of non-essential businesses.
