The President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, announced during his traditional message to the Nation on New Year's Eve, that the economic outlook for Côte d'Ivoire remains good with a projected growth rate of around 7% per year on p é riod 2023- 2025.

The structural transformation of the Ivorian economy is continuing according to the President of the Republic with the increase in local processing of products including cocoa, cashew nuts and cotton. He also highlights that the structuring projects underway in Greater Abidjan will, for the most part, be completed in 2023. These include the Cocody Bay Bridge and the one connecting Yopougon to the Plateau. Construction work on the 8 interchanges will also continue. For the Head of State, work to extend Félix Houphouët-Boigny Airport has also been launched and will eventually make it possible to accommodate ' 5 million passengers, thus consolidating the country's positioning as an airport hub.

The Abidjan metro will also make travel easier. As far as the interior of the country is concerned, Ouattara recalled the recent inauguration of the Yamoussoukro - Tiébissou highway, while indicating that the Tiébissou - Bouake part will be completed in the second half of 2023 as well as the rehabilitation of the Abidjan-San Pedro coastal road. According to him, this work is part of the vision of transforming secondary cities, such as Yamoussoukro, Bouaké, Korhogo and San Pedro, to make them major centres of development. He thus declared that “the construction of these cities' major universities, vocational training centers, hospitals and infrastructures contribute to this vision ”.
