The Banque de France has announced that it has "successfully" concluded its nine experiments relating to a central bank digital currency (MNBC) in the context of interbank exchanges. A second part will begin to test cross-border operations.

The digital euro seems to be on the right track. The Banque de France takes a key step for the digital euro with the successful validation of interoperability between different platforms, an essential step for the operation of central bank digital currency (MNBC) for interbank transactions. The successful experiment is a new step which consisted of an issue of digital bonds, paid for in digital currency. The Banque de France will however continue its tests with a “second component (…) mainly centered on cross-border operations”.
