The Ghanaian authorities and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have signed a service-level agreement on economic policies and reforms that will be supported by a new three-year Extended Credit Facility (ECF) agreement of approximately 3 milliards de dollars .

The economic program aims to restore debt sustainability and macroeconomic stability by laying the groundwork for stronger, more inclusive growth. Le FMI said in a statement published on his website that “the authorities' solid reform program aims to restore macroeconomic stability and the viability of debt while protecting vulnerable people, preserving financial stability, and laying the groundwork for a strong and inclusive recovery.”

A team of FMI directors By Stéphane Roudet, Head of Mission for the Ghana , visited Accra from 1 to 13 December 2022, to discuss with the Ghanaian authorities the institution's support for their policies and their reform plans at the end of the agreement between the Ghana and the MI.
