Angola gets 1.4 billion dollars from the British bank Standard Chartered Plc to build photovoltaic systems in rural areas.

The Angolan Ministry of Finance has obtained funding to build photovoltaic power distribution infrastructure in several rural areas of the country. The funds will be used to set up 48 hybrid photovoltaic generation systems with energy storage that will serve as mini-grids and operate autonomously to provide renewable electricity to communities that are not connected to the national grid, according to a statement released the week of June 26
