Lors d' un point de presse organisé au cours de la journée intensive de travail le 7 mars 2023, le directeur national de la Central Bank of the States of West Africa (BCEAO), Maman Laouane Karim and the president of the Association of Professionals of Banks and Financial Institutions of Niger (APBEF Niger), Zenaba Sabo Saidou Dambaba reaffirmed their commitment to financing small and medium-sized enterprises and small and medium-sized industries.

The press briefing is organized in two stages. First of all, this is the meeting between la BCEAO and the APBEF for 2023, followed by a consultation extended to support structures on the financing support system for small and medium-sized enterprises and small and medium-sized industries ( SMES/SMIS). According to the national director, BCEAO affirmed that small and medium-sized enterprises constitute an important ecosystem in Niger and in the WAEMU area.

For him, the support system for SMEs/SMIs is a system that is set up in each country of the Monetary Union and that stems from the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers of the West African Economic and Monetary Union in September 2015.
