The current system for mobilizing resources is considered to be “weak”, hampering the Congolese state from its real expenses. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Jean-Baptiste Ondaye, drew up this overview of public finances on December 3 in Brazzaville.

The managing directors of the financial authorities and the heads of other structures under supervision have been brought together by the Minister of Economy and Finance. They participated in collecting tax and customs revenues, in particular from the Banque Postale du Congo, the Congolese Housing Bank and the Central Bank. Their meeting resulted in the development of a concerted action plan to secure State revenues.

Thus, the new roadmap includes guidelines aimed at strengthening coordination between central government and decentralized services, streamlining the sharing of information between financial authorities, through regular reconciliation of accounting entries, and ensuring information sharing between the administrations concerned eacute; es, then to implement a capacity building plan for cash management, with a cash flow forecast and dashboards.
