Since the beginning of the year, the franc has continued to appreciate against the euro, with the currency pair still trading at 1.038 EUR/CHF in early January. At 10:30 a.m., the Swiss currency was trading at 0.9661 francs to the euro after falling to 0.9647 EUR/CHF in the morning.
The downward pressure on the currency pair is expected to persist. The pair is expected to trade around 0.96 EUR/CHF on a three-month horizon. John Plassard, an analyst at Mirabaud Banque, expects the franc to move towards 0.95 EUR/CHF and 0.93 USD/CHF.
