Nigerian customs will deploy drones at the Sèmè-Kpodji border to control smuggling. This border surveillance will be done electronically.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that it will soon deploy drones to the Sèmè border to monitor smuggling activities. During a visit to the Sèmè zone command, Deputy Comptroller General Modupe Aremu, indicated that border management monitoring will be done electronically through the use of drones to ensure that there are has an aerial view of the border. This new system will minimize controls to reduce human interaction and make work faster and more efficient. These drones will help simplify customs processes as much as possible.
