The American group Visa announced the launch in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from Visa Pay, a new solution for digital payment to expand access to electronic transactions for individuals and businesses.

The Congolese fintech Maishapay was selected among the 12 start-ups selected for the fourth edition of the Africa program Fintech Accelerator launched by Visa. This cohort, scheduled from October to December 2025, brings together companies active in various fields of fintech: digitization of SMEs, digital loans, cross-border payments, management of payroll, B2B payments, transactions based on artificial intelligence, social trade, climate insurance and neobank.

By joining this system, Maishapay will benefit from a personalized mentoring, specialized training, networking opportunities and privileged access to investors. Since its launch, this program has already supported 64 fintechs from 17 African countries, for a value of cumulative portfolio estimated at $1.1 billion. Extended over 12 weeks, it is part of Visa's commitment to invest $1 billion in Africa by 2027, in order to boost financial inclusion and strengthen the digital economy of the continent.
