The Ivorian company Sucrivoire S.A, specialized in the manufacture of sugar, made a loss of 931.027 million FCFA (1.396 million euros) at the end of the third quarter of 2020, announced the leaders of this company based in Borotou in Côte d'Ivoire.

The net result is an improvement of 88% compared to the same period of 2019 when this company had realized a loss of 7.705 billion FCFA.

As for turnover, it increased by 15% to 48.400 billion FCFA against 42.160 billion FCFA at 30 September 2019. According to Sucrivoire's managers, this increase is related to market developments. They also believe that the best level of sugar production in the 2019-2020 season explains the 125% improvement in operating income. It went from -4.286 billion CFA francs at 30 September 2019 to +1.081 billion CFA francs a year later.

For its part, the result of ordinary activities is up 92% with an achievement that stands at -463.367 million FCFA in the third quarter of 2020 against -5.793 billion FCFA a year earlier. Sucrivoire's managers explain this situation by " the improvement in sugar production combined with better control of loads." 

In perspective, sucrivoire's managers estimate that   the 2020-2021 sugar season began in the last week of October 2020 with the aim of producing a little more sugar than the 2019-2020 season, i.e. 98,000 tons. According to them, agricultural and industrial activities at this level of the season are proceeding according to plan. " Sucrivoire should experience a return to growth at the end of the 2020 calendar year," they reassure.
